ENCOURAGING ACCOMPLISHMENT T he SAR100 program is intended to prepare mid-career women engineering professionals for leadership roles in the energy integration and energy space. It is a rigorous 8-month program with ten 3-week teaching modules, each with a supervised practicum, and a capstone seminar at the AIT campus in Bangkok. For the 2022- 2023 course, participants were drawn from 7 South Asian countries: Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. Each participant accessed the program through online classes, with on-site practicums offering analytical problem-solving and a peer-learning approach that enhanced the learning experience. Designed to build leadership skills, networking confidence, and the technical capacity of participants, the curriculum aimed to help them manage the operations of their regionally integrated power systems with high renewable energy penetration.
